In the following question, select the missing number from the given series.

9, 28, 86, 261, 787, ?

Solution

The pattern followed is :

9 $$\times3+1$$ = 28

28 $$\times3+2$$ = 86

86 $$\times3+3$$ = 261

261 $$\times3+4$$ = 787

787 $$\times3+5$$ = 2366
