Question 32

In a certain code language, 'GAME' is coded as '78', and 'PNAD' is coded as '105'. How will 'HORN' be coded in that language?

Solution

First sum of the place values of the letters within the word and after that obtained number is multiplied by 3.

GAME ==> 7+1+13+5 = 26 ==> $$26\times3$$ = 78

PNAD ==> 16+14+1+4 = 35 ==> $$35\times3$$ = 105

HORN ==> 8+15+18+14 ==> 55 ==> $$55\times3$$ = 165

So 'HORN' will be coded as '165' in that code language.
