If 7 x 8 = 49, 4 × 4 = 12 and 6 × 4 = 18, what will 9 × 6 be ?

Solution

The pattern followed is = $$a\times b=a\times(b-1)$$

Eg : $$7\times(8-1)=7\times7=49$$

and $$4\times(4-1)=4\times3=12$$

and $$6\times(4-1)=6\times3=18$$

Similarly, $$9\times(6-1)=9\times5=45$$
