Question 3

If $$x-\frac{1}{x}=10$$ then find the value of $$\frac{x^4+1}{x^2}$$

Solution

Given : $$x-\frac{1}{x}=10$$

Squaring both sides, we get :

=> $$(x-\frac{1}{x})^2=(10)^2$$

=> $$x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}-2(x)(\frac{1}{x})=100$$

=> $$x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}=100+2$$

=> $$\frac{x^4+1}{x^2}=102$$

=> Ans - (C)
