A dishonest shopkeeper professes to sell goods at his cost price but uses a false weight of 950 gms, for each kilogram. His gain percentage is
Let the cost price of the shopkeeper = Rs. 1000/kg
=> He buys 1 gm for Rs. 1
Since, he uses false weight of 950 gms, selling price = Rs. 1000/950 gm
=> He sells 1 gm for = $$\frac{1000}{950}=Rs.$$ $$\frac{20}{19}$$
$$\therefore$$ Profit % = $$\frac{SP-CP}{CP} \times 100$$
= $$\frac{\frac{20}{19}-1}{1} \times 100$$
= $$\frac{100}{19}=5\frac{5}{19}\%$$
