Solution

Let total work = L.C.M of 15&30 = 30units

A's efficiency = 30/15 = 2

B's efficiency = 30/30 = 1

To complete 50% of work, i.e; 15 units of work,

both can take $$\frac{15}{2+1}=5$$ days

so the answer is option A.
