Question 26

In a certain code language, 'O' is coded as '15' and 'ADD' is coded as '9'. How will 'PURE' be coded in that language?

Solution

As we know that the place value of 'O' is '15' as per the English alphabetical series.

ADD ==> (1+4+4) = 9

Here the sum of the place values of the letters within the word is done to obtain the code.

PURE ==> (16+21+18+5) = 60

So 'PURE' is coded as '60' in that code language.
