Solution

let the age of 4 childrens are x , (x +4), (x +8), (x +12),(x +16)

sum of the age of all the children = 80 years

x +(x +4)+ (x +8)+ (x +12)+ (x +16)= 80

5x + 40 = 80

5x =40

x = 8

eldest child age = (x +16)= 8+ 16 =24 years
