Question 24

Simplify: $$\frac{1}{4} + \frac{3}{8} - \frac{1}{2} + \frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{3}$$

Solution

take the lcm of 4,8,2,3 by taking factorization

2=2

3=3

4=2\times 2

8=2\times 2\times 2

by taking common

lcm=2\times 2\times 2\times 3 =24

 $$\frac{1}{4} + \frac{3}{8} - \frac{1}{2} + \frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{3}$$

$$\frac{6+9-12+18-8}{24}$$

$$\frac{13}{24}$$
