∆PQR is right angled at Q. If m$$\angle$$R = $$30^\circ$$, then find the value of $$(\cos P - \frac{1}{3})$$.
Solution
Sum of angles of $$\triangle$$ PQR = $$\angle P+\angle Q+\angle R=180^\circ$$
=> $$\angle P+90^\circ+30^\circ=180^\circ$$
=> $$\angle P=180^\circ-120^\circ=60^\circ$$
To find : $$(\cos P - \frac{1}{3})$$
= $$cos(60^\circ)-\frac{1}{3}$$
= $$\frac{1}{2}-\frac{1}{3}$$
= $$\frac{1}{6}$$
=> Ans - (A)
