If the lengths of the two parallel sides of a trapezium are 5 cm and 7 cm and the distance between these parallel sides is 4 cm. Find its area $$(in cm^2)$$
Distance between parallel sides = height of trapezium =Â $$4$$ cm
=> Sum of lengths of parallel sides = $$7+5=12$$ cm
=> Area of trapezium = $$\frac{1}{2} \times$$ (sum of parallel sides) $$\times$$ height
= $$\frac{1}{2}\times12\times 4$$
= $$\frac{48}{2}=24$$ $$cm^2$$
