If the length of one side and the diagonal of a rectangle are 8 cm and 17 cm respectively, then find its perimeter (in cm).
Solution
Length of rectangle = $$l=8$$ cm and diagonal = $$d=17$$ cm
Let breadth = $$b$$ cm
=> $$(b)^2=(d)^2-(l)^2$$
=> $$(b)^2=(17)^2-(8)^2$$
=> $$(b)^2=289-64=225$$
=> $$b=\sqrt{225}=15$$ cm
$$\therefore$$ Perimeter of rectangle = $$2(l+b)$$
= $$2\times(8+15)=46$$ cm
=> Ans - (C)
