If the length of one side and the diagonal of a rectangle are 5 cm and 13 cm respectively, then find its perimeter (in cm).

Solution

Let the length of rectangle = $$l$$ cm and breadth, $$b=5$$ cm

=> Diagonal, $$d^2=l^2+b^2$$

=> $$l^2=(13)^2-(5)^2$$

=> $$l^2=169-25=144$$

=> $$l=\sqrt{144}=12$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Perimeter = $$2\times(5+12)=2\times17=34$$ cm

=> Ans - (B)
