Question 20

Three inferences are given based on the following statement. Decide which inferences are valid and accordingly choose the correct option.

Following the directions of Delhi High Court, the ECI has now directed all the political parties not to use public funds or public place to carry out any activity that would amount to propagating the party symbol
Statement I: Earlier all parties used to use public funds for propagating party symbols.
Statement II: The directions of the ECI are binding on the political parties.
Statement III: Propagating party symbol influences the voters.

On the orders of the high court, the ECI has directed the parties to stop using public funds for propagating party symbol.
This does not mean that all parties used to practice this. Hence statement I is not a valid inference.
The ECI has directed the parties to follow this. However from the given amount of information, we do not know if this is binding on the parties or not. Hence inference II is also not valid.
There is no mention of the voters in the given statement. There might be other reasons due to which the court might has ordered parties not to use public funds for propagating their symbols.
Hence inference III is also not valid.
