The average age of father and his son is 22 years. The ratio of their ages is 10 : 1 respectively. What is the age of the son ?
Solution
Let son's age = $$x$$ years
=> Father's age = $$10x$$ years
Average age = $$\frac{x+10x}{2}=22$$
=> $$11x=22\times2=44$$
=> $$x=\frac{44}{11}=4$$ years
=> Ans - (B)
