A 600 metres long train is running at the speed of 81 km/hr. If it crosses a platform in 40 seconds, then what is the length of the platform (in metres)?
Let length of platform = $$l$$ m and length of train = 600 m
Speed of train = 81 km/hr = $$(81\times\frac{5}{18})=22.5$$ m/s
Using, distance = speed $$\times$$ time
=> $$l+600=22.5\times40$$
=> $$l=900-600=300$$ m
