Instructions

In each of the following questions two rows of numbers are given. The resultant number in each row is to be worked out separately based on the following rules and the question below the rows is to be answered. The operations of numbers progress from left to right.
Rules
(i) If an even number is followed by another even number they are to be added.
(ii) If an even number is followed by a prime number, they are to be multiplied.
(iii)If an odd number is followed by an even number, even number is to be subtracted from the odd number,
(iv) If an odd number is followed by another odd number the first number is to be added to the square of the second number,
(v) If an even number is followed by a composite odd number, the even number is to be divided by odd number.

Question 159

I. 36 13 39
II. 77 30 7
What will be the outcome if the resultant of second row is divided by the resultant of first row ?

I : 36 13 39

Now, even number '36' is followed by prime number '13', rule (ii) is applied = $$36\times13=468$$

Thus, it becomes : 468 39

Even number '468' is followed composite odd '39', thus according to rule (v) = $$\frac{468}{39}=12$$

II : 77 30 7

Odd number '77' is followed by even number '30', hence rule (iii) is followed = $$77-30=47$$

Thus, it becomes : 47 7

Odd number '47' is followed by another odd number '7', rule (iv) is applied = $$47+(7)^2=96$$

$$\therefore$$ Resultant of second row if divided by the resultant of first row = $$\frac{96}{12}=8$$

=> Ans - (C)
