Solution
Let cost of one pen be Rs. x and cost of one pencil be Rs. y
Hence, 2x = 5y
And 4x+7y = 34 ==> 17y = 34 ==> y = 2 and x = 5
Hence, cost of 7 pens and 4 pencils = 35 + 8 = 43
