A sum of money is divided among A, B, C and D in the ratio of 3 : 7 : 9 : 13 respectively. If the share of B is Rs. 4,872, then what is the total amount of money of A and C together ?

Solution

Let the total amount to be divided = $$32x$$

A : B : C : D = 3 : 7 : 9 : 13

=> Share of B = $$\frac{7}{32} * 32x = 4872$$

=> $$x = \frac{4872}{7} = 696$$

Now, total amount of money with A & C together

= $$\frac{3 + 9}{32} * 32x$$

= $$12 * 696 = $$Rs. $$8,352$$
