If 43x + 43y = 4816, what is the average of x and y ?

Solution

Given : $$43x + 43y = 4816$$

=> $$43 (x + y) = 4816$$

=> $$x + y = \frac{4816}{43} = 112$$

$$\therefore$$ Required average

=> $$\frac{x + y}{2} = \frac{112}{2} = 56$$
