Rashika can do a work in 5 days. Rashmi can do the same work in 7 days. Both of them ﬁnish the work together and they get Rs.240 for the work. What is the share (in Rs) of Rashika?

Solution

Time taken by Rashika = 5 days and by Rashmi = 7 days

Efficiency $$\propto$$ $$\frac{1}{time}$$

=> Ratio of efficiency of Rashika and Rashmi = $$7:5$$

$$\therefore$$ Share of Rashika = $$\frac{7}{(7+5)}\times240$$

= $$7\times20=Rs.$$ $$140$$

=> Ans - (C)
