If 879= 8,
625= 1,
586= 9,
then 785 = ?

Solution

In each number, the first digit is subtracted from the sum of last two digits.

Eg : $$879=(7+9)-8=16-8=8$$

and $$625=(2+5)-6=7-6=1$$

and $$586=(8+6)-5=14-5=9$$

Similarly, $$785=(8+5)-7=13-7=6$$

=> Ans - (A)
