The pie chart given below represents the modes of transport for 1400 officers of the Staff Selection Commission, Kolkata. Study the chart and answer the following questions.

Write down the difference: (officers availing train - officers availaing car)

Solution

Total no. of officers = 1400

% of officers using train = 36%

=> No. of officers using train = $$\frac{36}{100}$$ * 1400 = 504

% of officers using cars = 21%

. => No. of officers using cars = $$\frac{21}{100}$$ * 1400 = 294

=> Required difference = 504-294 = 210
