Let the cost of 1 dozen apples be 'a'
Cost of 1 dozen bananas be 'b'
Given that
6a + 8b = 1400
2 $$\times$$ (3a + 4b) = 1400
3a + 4b = 700
5 $$\times$$ (3a + 4b) = 5 $$\times$$ 700
15a + 20b = 3500
$$\therefore$$The cost of 15 dozen apples and 20 dozen bananas is Rs. 3500
