Let the number of coins of ₹ 1, 50 paise and 25 paise in the bag are 2p, 3p, 5p respectively
Given, the total value of these coins is ₹ 228
$$=$$> $$2p\times1+3p\times\frac{1}{2}+5p\times\frac{1}{4}=228$$
$$=$$> $$\frac{8p+6p+5p}{4}=228$$
$$=$$> $$19p=228\times4$$
$$=$$> $$p=48$$
$$\therefore\ $$Number of 50 paise coins in the bag$$=3p=3\times48=144$$
