Question 142

On which day of the week is Priya definitely travelling?
I. Amita correctly remembers that Priya is travelling after Tuesday but before Saturday. Rohit correctly remembers that Priya is travelling before Friday but after Monday.
II. Priya does not travel on a Friday.

Solution

I : According to Amita, Priya is travelling on = Wednesday or Thursday or Friday

According to Amit, Priya is travelling on = Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday

Thus, common days in both inferences are = Wednesday or Thursday

Thus, we cannot determine the day using I alone.

Clearly, II alone is also insufficient.

So, combining both statements, the days on which Priya is travelling =  Wednesday or Thursday

Still, the day cannot be determined.

$$\therefore$$ Both statements even together are insufficient.

=> Ans - (D)
