Number of cars = 700

The second chart shows the ratio of petro and diesel cars.

Question 141

What is the difference between the number of diesel engine cars in state-2 and the number of petrol engine cars in state-4?

Solution

Number of cars in state 2 = 700*0.28 = 196

Number of diesel engines in state 2 =$$\frac{5}{5+9}*700$$ = 70

Number of cars in state 4 = 700*$$\frac{26}{100} = 182$$

Number of petrol cars in state 4 = 182/2 = 91

Difference = 91-70 = 21
