% water in 70 litres of mixture = 10%
=> Quantity of water = $$\frac{10}{100}\times70=7$$ litres
Let $$x$$ litres of water is added
According to ques,
=> $$x+7=\frac{12.5}{100}\times(x+70)$$
=> $$8x+56=x+70$$
=> $$8x-x=70-56$$
=> $$7x=14$$
=> $$x=\frac{14}{7}=2$$
$$\therefore$$ 2 litres of water must be added to make the water 12.5% in the new mixture.
