There are two concentric circular tracks of radii 100m and 102m respectively. A runs on the inner track and goes once round the track in 1 minute 30 seconds while B runs on outer track in 1 minute 32 seconds. Who runs faster and at what speed ?
Speed = Distance/Time.
Speed for A =Β $$\frac{2\pi\ \times\ 100}{90}=\frac{20\pi\ }{9}$$ m/sec and Speed for B =Β $$\frac{2\pi\ \times\ 102}{92}=\frac{51\pi\ }{23}$$.
Now, after comparing the speeds, we get that speed of A is faster and in 1 minute, A coversΒ $$\frac{20\pi\ }{9}\times\ 60=133.33\pi\ $$ metres.
