The ratio of two numbers is 3 : 5. If eight is added to the first, and seven to the second, then the ratio becomes 2 : 3.
What will be the ratio becomeif six is added to each?

Solution

Let numbers be $$3x$$ and $$5x$$

According to ques, => $$\frac{3x+8}{5x+7}=\frac{2}{3}$$

=> $$9x+24=10x+14$$

=> $$x=24-14=10$$

$$\therefore$$ To find : $$\frac{3x+6}{5x+6}$$

= $$\frac{3(10)+6}{5(10)+6}=\frac{36}{56}=9:14$$

=> Ans - (D)
