The sum of the ages of two different children is 30 years. After 5 years the age of one will become thrice the age of other. Find the age of the younger child now.
Solution
Age of elder child=a
Age of younger child=b
Given, a + b= 30.....(1)
and a+5=3(b + 5)....(2)
On solving (1) and (2) we get b=5.
