Question 130

In an isosceles triangle, if the unequal angle is twice the sum of the equal angles, then each equal angle is

Let the angles of isosceles triangle be $$\alpha , \alpha , \beta$$

Now, $$\beta = 2(\alpha + \alpha)$$

=> $$\beta = 4 \alpha$$

Also, sum of angles of a triangle is 180°

=> $$2 \alpha + \beta$$ = 180°

=> $$2 \alpha + 4 \alpha$$ = 180°

=> $$\alpha = \frac{180}{6}$$ = 30°
