Question 13

In the following question, two statements are given each followed by two conclusions I and II. You have to consider the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which of the given conclusions, if any, follows from the given statements.
Statement:
(I) Glaciers are receding and the temperature rise of the world is more than last year this time.
(II) Pollution level of the Earth is rising a lot resulting in avalanches.
Conclusions:
(I) Pollution is resulting into hike in temperature of the world.
(II) Pollution is the only reason for depletion of the nature.

Solution

The given statements indicate that glaciers are receding and the temperature rise of the world is more than last year this time. Also, pollution level of the Earth is rising a lot resulting in avalanches. It does not mean that only pollution is the reason for the depletion of temperature, neither does it mean that pollution is resulting into hike in temperature of the world.

Thus, neither I nor II follow.

=> Ans - (C)
