The sum of two numbers is 75 and their difference is 25. The product of the two numbers is:

Solution

Let the numbers be $$x$$ and $$y$$

=> Sum = $$x+y=75$$ ------------(i)

and difference = $$x-y=25$$ ------------(ii)

Adding both equations, we get : $$2x=75+25=100$$

=> $$x=\frac{100}{2}=50$$

Substituting it in equation (i), => $$y=75-50=25$$

$$\therefore$$ Product = $$50\times25=1250$$

=> Ans - (B)
