A man purchased some eggs at 3 for Rs. 5 and sold them at 5 for Rs. 12. Thus he gained Rs. 143 in all. The number of eggs he bought is
cost price of 3 eggs = 5 rs.
cost price of 5 eggs = $$\frac{5}{3} \times 5 = \frac{25}{3}$$
selling price of 5 eggs = 12 rs.
gain on 5 eggs = 12 -Â $$\frac{25}{3}$$ = $$\frac{11}{3}$$
hence gain on N number of eggs will be =Â $$\frac{11N}{15}$$ = 143
So N will be 195
