Question 125

The areas of two circular fields are in the ratio of 25 : 64 respectively. If the radius of the latter is 16 metre then what is the radius of the former ? (in metre)

Solution

Let radius of former circular field = $$r$$

Acc. to ques,

=> $$\frac{\pi r^2}{\pi 16^2} = \frac{25}{64}$$

=> $$r^2 = \frac{25}{64} \times 16 \times 16$$

=> $$r^2 = 25 \times 4 = 100$$

=> $$r = \sqrt{100} = 10$$
