The angle of elevation of a ladder leaning against a wall is $$60^\circ$$ and the foot of the ladder is 6.5 m away from the wall. The length of the ladder is:

Solution

from the above question we draw the diagram

Let Lenght ladder = AC

then from the $$ \triangle ABC $$,

$$ \cos 60^\circ = \frac {AB} {AC} $$

$$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2} = \frac {6.5} {AC}$$

$$\Rightarrow AC = 13 m $$

therefore The length of the ladder = 13 Ans
