STATEWISE DETAILS OF ADULT POPULATION OF A COUNTRY

Male – Female (M : F ) Ratio

Question 123

What is the ratio between total Graduate and Standard XII male population of State A and total Graduate and Standard XII female population of that State respectively ?

Solution

Total graduate population of State A = $$\frac{16}{100} \times 24 = 3.84$$ lakhs

=> Total male graduates of state A = $$\frac{7}{12} \times 3.84 = 2.24$$ lakhs

=> Total female graduates from state A = $$3.84 - 2.24 = 1.6$$ lakhs

Total standard XII population of State A = $$\frac{15}{100} \times 32 = 4.8$$ lakhs

=> Total standard XII male population of State A = $$\frac{7}{16} \times 4.8 = 2.1$$ lakhs

=> Total standard XII female population of State A = $$4.8 - 2.1 = 2.7$$ lakhs

$$\therefore$$ Required ratio = $$(2.24 + 2.1) : (1.6 + 2.7)$$

= $$4.34 : 4.30 = 217 : 215$$
