In how many different ways can the letters of the word ADJUST be arranged so that the vowels never come together ?

We have 2 vowels A,U and 4 consonants D,J,S,T.
We can arrange 4 consonants in 4! ways. Now there will 5 spaces which will be created by arranging 4 consonants (_ D_J_S_T_)
Now the two vowels can be inserted in any of these 5 places. So the required number of ways is 4! * 5C2*2!
= 24*10*2 = 480
So the correct choice is option D
