Question 122

Five friends - P, Q, R, S and T are sitting around a circular table facing towards the centre. Who among them is sitting second to the right of S ?
I. Only two persons are sitting between S and T. Only one person is sitting between T and Q. P is an immediate neighbor of T.
II. R is sitting second to the left of S. Only one person is sitting between R and P. Q is not an immediate neighbor of P.

Solution

I : Only two persons are sitting between S and T, => T is either second to the left or second to the right of S.

Only one person is sitting between T and Q, => Q is either to the immediate left or immediate right of S.

P is an immediate neighbor of T.

Thus, statement I alone is insufficient.

II : R is sitting second to the left of S. Only one person is sitting between R and P, => P is sitting to the immediate right of S.

Q is not an immediate neighbor of P, => Q is the neighbor of S.

Thus, T is sitting second to the right of S.

$$\therefore$$ Statement II alone is sufficient.

=> Ans - (E)
