By what percentage are the total imports of the country in 2016 and 2017 less than the total exports in 2014, 2015 and 2018? (Your answer should be correct to one decimal place)

Solution

Total imports of the country in 2016 and 2017 = 375 + 425 = 800

Total exports in 2014, 2015 and 2018 = 500 + 560 + 440 = 1500

Required percentage = $$\frac{1500 - 800}{1500} \times 100 = \frac{700}{1500} \times 100 = 46.7%$$
