By selling an umbrella for Rs. 30, a shop-keeper gains 20%. During a clearance sale, the shop-keeper allows a discount of 10%. Find his gain percent during the sale season.
Selling price of umbrella = Rs. 30
Profit % = 20%
=> Cost price = $$\frac{30}{(100+20)}\times100$$
= $$\frac{100}{4}=Rs.$$ $$25$$
When discount of 10% is given, new selling price = $$30-(\frac{10}{100}\times30)$$
= $$30-3=Rs.$$ $$27$$
$$\therefore$$ Gain percent during the sale season = $$\frac{(27-25)}{25}\times100$$
= $$2\times4=8\%$$
=> Ans - (A)
