Question 118

The diagonals of two squares are in the ratio of 3: 7. What is the ratio of their areas ?

Ratio of square of diagonal to area of square = $$2:1$$

Let diagonal of first square = $$d_1=3$$ cm and $$d_2=7$$ cm

Thus, ratio of areas = $$\frac{A_1}{A_2}=(\frac{d_1}{d_2})^2$$

= $$\frac{3^2}{7^2}=\frac{9}{49}$$

=> Ans - (B)
