Question 116

Divide 27 into two parts so that 5 times the first and 11 times the second together equals to 195. Then ratio of the first and second parts is

Solution

Let the two parts be $$x$$, $$27-x$$

According to the Problem

$$5x+11\left(27-x\right)=195$$

$$=$$>  $$5x+297-11x=195$$

$$=$$>  $$6x=297-195$$

$$=$$>  $$x=17$$

$$\therefore$$Required ratio$$=x:(27-x)=17:(27-10)=17:10$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option A
