Each question below has two statements, I and II. Mark your answer as:

Question 114

If $$y = 2x$$, then

I. $$\sin y = \frac{2 \tan x}{1 + \tan^2 x}$$

II. $$\cos y = \frac{2 \tan x}{1 - \tan^2 x}$$

Solution

$$sin(2\theta)=\frac{2 tan\theta}{1+tan^2\theta}$$

and $$cos(2\theta)=\frac{1- tan^2\theta}{1+tan^2\theta}$$

Thus, if $$y=2x$$, then only first statement is true.

=> Ans - (A)
