What is the solution of the following equations ?
$$2x + 3y = 12$$ and $$3x - 2y = 5$$
$$2x + 3y = 12$$ --equation (1) and $$3x - 2y = 5$$ --equation (2)
Multiply equation (1) by 2 and equation (2) by 3
$$4x + 6y = 24$$ and $$9x - 6y = 15$$
Adding both equations, we get,
$$13x = 39$$
$$\Rightarrow$$ $$x = 3$$
Substituting this value of $$x$$ in equation we get,
$$6 + 3y = 12$$
$$3y = 6$$
$$\Rightarrow$$ $$y = 2$$
Hence, option A is correct.
