Question 11

The difference between simple interest on a certain sum at the rate of 6% per annum for 5 years and 6 years is 25.8. What is the sum (in Rs)?

Solution

Let the sum be = Rs. $$100x$$

Rate of interest = 6%

=> Simple interest = $$\frac{P\times R\times T}{100}$$

According to ques,

=> $$(\frac{100x\times6\times6}{100})-(\frac{100x\times6\times5}{100})=25.8$$

=> $$36x-30x=25.8$$

=> $$x=\frac{25.8}{6}=4.3$$

$$\therefore$$ Sum = $$100\times4.3=Rs.$$ $$430$$

=> Ans - (B)
