The length of a rectangle is thrice its breadth and its perimeter is 96 cm. The area (in square centimetres) of the rectangle is

Solution

Let length = 3b and breadth =b

Permiter = 2(b+3b) = 96

=> 4b= 48 => b=12

Hence l = 36 and b = 12

Area = 36*12 = 432
