The volume of a right circular cone which is obtained from a wooden cube of edge 4.2 dm wasting minimum amount of wood is:

Solution

Height of largest circular cone = $$4.2$$ dm and radius = $$\frac{4.2}{2}=2.1$$ dm

Volume of cone = $$\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h$$

= $$\frac{1}{3}\times\frac{22}{7}\times(2.1)^2\times4.2$$

= $$22\times4.41\times0.2=19.404$$ $$dm^3$$

=> Ans - (B)
