A man completes a journey within 7.5 hours. He travels first half of the journey at the rate of 20 kmph and second half at the rate of 30 kmph. What is the total distance to travel? (Km)
Solution
Let total distance = $$2d$$ km
Using, time = distance/speed
=> $$\frac{d}{20}+\frac{d}{30}=7.5$$
=> $$\frac{30d+20d}{600}=7.5$$
=> $$5d=7.5\times60$$
=> $$d=7.5\times12=90$$
$$\therefore$$ Total distance of the entire journey = $$2\times90=180$$ km
=> Ans - (D)
